I am a long time resident of Albuquerque. I enjoy the mountains and outdoor activities in New Mexico. I am the author of the book titled Sandia Mountain Hiking Guide, published by the University of New Mexico Press. The book describes 57 hiking trails within the Sandia Mountains next to Albuquerque.
I work at Sandia National Laboratories, in the Advanced Materials Sciences Department. I have worked in the field of Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) for over 25 years. What is it good for? One exciting possibility that we are working on is Semiconductor (Solid State) Lighting.
In 2003 I finished writing a graduate-level text book entitled Chemically Reacting Flow, published by John Wiley & Sons. The book was written with my long-time friend and colleague Bob Kee from the Colorado School of Mines, and Peter Glarborg from the Technical University of Denmark. The book describes research that we have been collaborating on for over 20 years.
In the Fall of 2005 four friends and I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro (19,240') in Tanzania. To read about that adventure click here.
I spend a lot of time at my church, Sandia Presbyterian, and enjoy working as a volunteer with our Middle School and Senior High Youth Programs.
